privacy

privacy policy

Token Leaders is built around a simple promise: we count tokens, not content. Last updated: July 6, 2026.

We collect

  • +Token counts (input, output, total)
  • +Timestamps of usage
  • +Source (terminal or in-app Claude Code)
  • +Your Google profile (name, email, avatar)

We never collect

  • −Conversation content — prompts or responses
  • −Conversation titles or IDs
  • −File attachments or artifacts
  • −Anything you type into Claude

how it works

Our companion installs a lightweight hook into Claude Code that reads the token counts already recorded in your local session transcript after each response — covering Claude Code both in your terminal and inside the desktop app. Only token counts and timestamps leave your device; never the substance of your conversations.

information we collect

  • Account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo.
  • Usage: per-session token counts, timestamps, and source (terminal / desktop / web), sent by the companion you install.
  • Profile: anything you add in settings — display name, bio, social handles, avatar.
  • Technical: limited request metadata (such as IP address) used transiently to rate-limit and protect the service.

how we use it

To run the leaderboard: compute and display your totals, rank, streaks, and badges; power your dashboard and social features (following, feed, invites); and detect and prevent abuse or cheating. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

what's public

While your profile is public, your display name, avatar, token totals, rank, and badges are visible to anyone. You can make your profile private at any time in settings, which hides you from the board.

sharing

We share data only with the providers needed to operate: Google (sign-in) and our infrastructure host. We may disclose information if required by law. We are an independent project and are not affiliated with Anthropic.

cookies

We use a single essential, HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived cookie to attribute invite links. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

retention

We keep your usage and profile data while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile and disconnects your devices; aggregate, non-identifying counts may persist.

your rights & control

Tracking is opt-in. You can make your profile private, disconnect any machine from the Get Started page to stop tracking, and request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us. Depending on your location (e.g. the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.

security

Sessions use HttpOnly cookies, traffic is served over HTTPS, and the service is built to only ever receive token counts — never conversation content. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what little we hold.

children

Token Leaders isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves; material changes are reflected by the “last updated” date above.
